Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is India’s Central agency authorized to conduct the Civil Services Examination. The agency charter is granted by the Constitution of India. The Commission consists of a chairman & ten members. The chairman & the other members of the UPSC are appointed by the President of India.UPSC is also among the few institutions of the country which function both autonomy & freedom along with the country higher Judiciary & lately Election Commission. Every year the commission recruits various applicants through various civil services examination. This year it conducting the examination for the recruitment to the post of Geologist & Hydrogeologist which was held by the Union Public Service Commission commencing from the 9th November 2013. Eligibility Criteria for UPSC Geologist & Hydrogeologist Vacancies
Educational Qualification:
a) For Geologists & Assistant Geologist: Master Degree in Geological Science/Geology/Applied Geology/Geo-Exploration/Mineral Exploration/Engineering Geology/Marine Geology/Earth Science & Resource Management/Oceanography & Costal Area Studies/Petroleum Geo-sciences/Petroleum Exploration/Geochemistry/Geological Technology/Geophysical Technology from a recognized University.
b) For Junior Hydrogeologist: Master Degree Geology/Applied Geology/Marine Geology from a recognized University.
c) For Assistant Hydrogeologist: Master Degree in Hydrogeology from a recognized University
Application/Intimation Fees (Non refundable):
The candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/-(Rupees Two Hundred Only) by depositing the money through the State Bank of India (SBI) by cash or by using Net Banking through SBI/State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore. The SC/ST/EXSM/PH& all women candidates are not required to pay any fee.

The candidate who wishes to apply for more than one Post should apply separately & pay the fee for each post in prescribed manner. After Submitting the Online Recruitment Application, the candidates are required to take the printout of the final submitted Online Recruitment Application.
