It was  established on 8th October 1932 as an auxiliary air force of the British Empire.The candidates who wants to Join the Indian Air Force & be a Part of that prestigious Indian Armed Forces. The IAF invites enterprising & adventurous men & women to join the Indian Air Force as Commissioned Officers in Meteorology Branch. The complete information regarding this is mentioned below:

Last Date of Receipt of Application - 31st August 2013
Last Date of Receipt of Application(For Special States) - 07th September 2013

IAF Commissioned Officers Course Commencing in July 2014

1) Course Commencing (For Men)
a) Ground Duty Officers (136GDOC) Course (Permanent Commission)
b) Short Service Commission (29 SSC) Course.

2) Course Commencing (For Women)
a) Short Service Commission (49 SSC) Course

Eligibility Criteria for IAF Commissioned Officers in Meteorology Branch

Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree in any Science Stream/Mathematics/Statistics/Geography/Computer Applications/Environmental Science/Applied Physics/Oceanography/Metrology/Agricultural Metrology/Ecology & Environment/Geo-Physics/Environmental Biology with minimum 50% marks in aggregate of all papers put together (Provide Maths & Physics were studied at Graduation Level, with a minimum 55% marks in both)

Age Limit:
The eligible age of the candidate is 20yrs to 25yrs (Born between 2 July 1989 & 1 July 1994)

How to Apply:
1) The candidates complete the application as per the format given in the advertisement, & forward the same to POST BAG NO. 001, NIRMAN BHAWAN POST OFFICE, NEWDELHI-110106 by ordinary Post only.

2) The application should be posted through normal post only. Any other mode will not be accepted.

3) The candidates should subscribed on the envelop “APPLICATION FOR METEOROLOGY BRANCH COURSES COMMENCING IN JULY 2014”.

4) The applicant must be accompanied with the one self addressed envelope (Size 23x10 cm) with Rs. 27/- postage stamp & Two unattested recent colour photographs similar to the one pasted on the application form.
