Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), statutory body under the administrative control of Govt. of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, (Department of Consumer Affairs) responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product & System Certification Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing etc. in the country invites applications for recruitment to the various posts, as per the details given below:

Eligibility Criteria for Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS)

Educational Qualification:
1) For Assistant   Degree from recognized University.

2) For Junior Translator (Hindi): Master Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi/English with English/Hindi as a subject at the degree level OR Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject with English/Hindi as a subject at the degree level OR Master’s Degree of recognized University or equivalent in any subject with English/Hindi medium and Hindi/English as subject at the degree level. Diploma/Certificate course in translation.

3) For Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Graduation from a recognized University with one year Diploma/Certificate Course in Computer from a recognized Institution. English Typing speed of 30 words/minute or Hindi typing speed of 25 words/minute

4) For Junior Stenographer: Graduation from a recognized University with one year Diploma/Certificate Course in Computer from a recognized Institution. Shorthand speed of 80 words per minute in English or in Hindi and Knowledge of Computer.

5) For Stenographer:
a) Degree from a recognized University.
b) Short Hand test in English OR Hindi comprising dictation test at 100 words/minute for seven minutes which the candidates shall be required to transcribe in 45 minutes (English dictation) & 60 minutes (Hindi dictation) & Knowledge of Computers.

6) For Technical Assistant (Lab) Chemical: Bachelor Degree in Science (with Chemistry as one of the main subject) with minimum 60% marks Or Three year Diploma in Chemical Engg. With minimum 60% marks.

7) For Technical Assistant (Lab) Mechanical: Three Years Diploma in Mechanical Engg. with minimum 60% marks.

8) For Technical Assistant (Lab) Electrical: Three Years Diploma in Mechanical Engg. with minimum 60% marks.

9) For Technical Assistant (Lab) Microbiological: Bachelor’s Degree in Science (with Microbiology/Bio-Technology as one of the main subject) with minimum 60% marks OR Three years Diploma in Agricultural Engineering/Food Technology with minimum 60% marks 

Application & Intimation Fees (Non refundable):
a) For Assistant: Rs. 500/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs.
b) For Stenographer: Rs. 500/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs
c) For Junior Translator (Hindi): Rs. 500/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs
d) For Technical Assistant (Lab): Rs. 500/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs
e) For Junior Stenographer: Rs. 350/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs
f) For Lower Division Clerk (LDC): Rs. 350/- & Rs. 35/- for Transaction Chgs
(Note): The belonging to SC/ST/PWD/Women candidates & existing department candidates of BIS for all the posts the fee should be exempted & Exemption applicable only for the posts of Junior Stenographer & LDC for (EXSM).

How to Apply:
The candidates are requested to read the contents of the advertisement & ensure eligibility before applying online & also all the instructions given in the main instruction page of online applications.


1) The candidates are required to apply online through BIS website www.bis.org.in

 
2) Then, Click on the Link “RECRUITMENT ADVT/RESULT”. The candidate should fill all the desired information in the online form correctly.


3) T he candidate should take the printout of the bank challan which should be available through the website.


4) The candidate has to visit any branch of the State Bank of India (S.B.I) for depositing the fee. This completes the Step-I of online registration process.


5) The filling of online applications contain two parts Part-I & Part-II. The part-I registration will have to fill all the basic information. After all the information in Part-I the candidate may press “I Agree” button to complete the process. Then a page with registration no. shall be generated & take the printout of the page. The application process is incomplete without Part-II registration. In Part-II registration requires for filling the payment details, uploading the photograph & scanned signature. On completion of Part-II registration e-mail will be received by the candidates regarding submission of online application.
